Beulah 'Butch' N. Folken, 87, of Anamosa, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa, Iowa. Beulah Frasher was born on February 28, 1928, the third child of Thomas and Dora (Hughes) Frasher. She married Louis C. Folken on April 19, 1945, at the St. Paul Lutheran Parsonage in Anamosa, Iowa. They enjoyed 70 years together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Diana Heasty and Shirley Mannino, her brothers Tom, Gene, and David, and by her grandson, Jay Schmidt.
She is survived by her husband; her sister Betty Schnepp of Kalamazoo, Michigan; her children Carolyn (Rick) Paulson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Louis (Laurie), John (Shirley), Kathy (Mike) Schmidt all of Springville, Iowa, and Steven of Viola, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or service. A private family committal service will be held at a later date by Pastor Katie Lowe Lancaster of St. Paul's. Condolences may be sent to Louis C. Folken c/o Kathy Schmidt, 106 1st Street Springville, Iowa 52336.
What a lovely, classy lady! It was always a delight to visit with her at church – and then at home when she was no longer able to come to church. She was such a gentle, caring person. My sympathy goes out to Louis and to all of her family.
