Doris J. Tucker, 88, a lifetime resident of Cedar Rapids, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. David Beckman. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her sisters, Patricia Boddicker of Cedar Rapids and Joanne Dvorak of Robins; nephews, Kevin Boddicker, David Dvorak, and Dennis Dvorak; niece, Wendy (Boddicker) Torpey; granddaughter, Libby Tuel of Anamosa; many great nieces and nephews; and a special godchild, Peggy Cullinan.
Doris was born at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids on October 14, 1926, the daughter of Basil and Ella (Dalton) Bruce. She graduated from Mt. Mercy Academy and Jr. College. Before her retirement, she worked as a tax accountant for Merchants National Bank in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center or the charity of the donor's choice.

Truly sorry to read of Doris’s passing. I know what good friends you were, as well as sisters. I so enjoyed ushering with her at the Paramount and visiting with her at the salon. She was an upbeat positive person and will be missed.
