Marilyn Ellen Aspleaf, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Reverend Ivan Nienhaus. Visitation: 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Marilyn was born October 25, 1939, in Ryan, Iowa, to parents Gerald and Rosalyn (Hughes) Harrington. Marilyn married Larry Aspleaf on July 3, 1971 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Mount Mercy with a Bachelor's degree, then began teaching high school. She was involved in church, as well as AA. She is survived by her husband, Larry; her sons, Daniel, and James (Kelley Gilbert); sisters-in-law, Carol and Nancy Harrington; grandchild, Daphinie Lowe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Robert and Jerry Harrington. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
