Jeffrey Allen Bartmess, 45, of Martelle, formerly of Davenport, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, (formerly Morgan's), by Joel DeSousa. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial: 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Summit Cemetery, Eldridge, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Venus; daughters, Valerie, Jessica, and Eliza; mother, Bonnie (Harlan) Perry of Davenport; brother, William Earl Bartmess of Davenport; sister, Jennifer (Tony) Noble of Rock Island, Illinois; stepbrother, Craig (Kerri) Perry of Altoona, Iowa; and stepsister, Tammi (Tom) Brown of Madrid, Iowa. Jeff was born May 23, 1969, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Earl and Bonnie (Matzen) Bartmess. He attended North Scott High School and Hamilton Tech. He was currently working as a project manager for ADF Engineering. Jeff was a member of Cedar Valley Bible Church, Cedar Rapids. He was proud of his mission work in the Philippines, traveling there several times and sending clothing and Bibles. Jeff was planning to support the ministry full-time in his future retirement. His greatest joy in his life was his four girls, Venus, Valerie, Jessica, and Eliza. He was a good husband, father, and provider. Because of his belief and faith in Jesus Christ and the Resurrection, we know his soul is secure. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Earl. Memorials are suggested to the family.

  4. So sorry to hear of Jeff’s passing. I always remember him as a very industrious and ambitious guy. Even as a teenager, he was busy running his own business while the rest of us were playing. I always admired his young ambition. My prayers are with his family, may God bless and comfort them in this time of sorrow.
