Molly Catherine Jedlicka, 21, died late Wednesday night in her Mount Vernon home. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon by the Reverend David Ambrosy. Friends may call Sunday, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m., at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel, where the Christian Wake Service begins at 3:00 p.m. Burial Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Surviving Molly are her parents: Richard and his wife Paula and her sister Maggie at home, a brother Christopher of Cedar Rapids, a maternal grandmother Mildred Oestern of Maquoketa, three aunts: Karen (Tom) Hinz of Pontiac, Illinois, Dixie (Duke) Harland of Cedar Rapids, and Jodi (Gene) McLean of Santa Clara, California, and one uncle Gery (Katherine) Oestern of Maquoketa. Preceding Molly in death were her brother Curtis, a maternal grandfather Ralph Oestern, and paternal grandparents Richard Sr. and Doris Pence Jedlicka. Molly was born February 23, 1983, the oldest daughter of Rick and Paula Oestern Jedlicka at Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 2001. Molly was majoring in Accounting and Finance at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, where she was on the National Dean's list and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. She was accepted to Central College at Pella after graduation. Molly was working as a cashier at Hy Vee on Mount Vernon Road where she worked since high school. From an early age, Molly showed an incredible musical talent. Although she played the string bass and viola, she could play almost any instrument. She was a student of The Preucil School of Music in Iowa City. Molly was a gentle soul who loved animals. She spent many hours visiting and loving the cats at the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
