Gregory Jay Hill 54, of Alexandria, Virginia formerly of Manchester, Iowa and Muncie, Indiana, died Thursday December 18, 2003 at Inova Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria, Virginia, from cancer. Graveside services, 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Cascade Cemetery, at Cascade, with military rites. Local arrangements by Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. Surviving Gregory are his mother Dorris Board Hill, Muncie; a niece Colleen Griffith, Cleveland, Ohio; a nephew Benjamin Griffith, New Castle, Colorado; and an aunt, Reverend Mildred Board Grubbs of Mount Vernon, Iowa. Preceding Gregory in death were his father and a sister Pamela Kay Griffith. Gregory was born in Manchester, Iowa, August 8, 1949, the son of the late Dr. Robert E. Hill, Jr., and Dorris Board Hill. The family moved to Muncie, from Manchester, and in 1956 Greg graduated from Burris High School at Muncie. He attended the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Gregory volunteered for military service and served three years in the Army Personnel Command Center at the Pentagon. After his discharge from the Army, he continued to work as a civilian in the same department at the Pentagon until in 2002. Memorials in Gregory's honor may be made to the Salvation Army.
