Henry H. "Hank" Unruh, 71, formerly of Lisbon, died Saturday, June 25, 2005 in his daughter's home, Davenport, from emphysema. Funeral services 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel by Pastor Tony Liston. Visitation is from 4:00 until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday in the chapel. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery with military rites. Surviving Hank are his children and step-children: Lori and Bob Pelletier of DeWitt, Robin Unruh-Smith of Chesapeake, Virginia, Lisa and Greg Ashby of Davenport, Jim and Deb Lewis of Marion, Stan Lewis of Cedar Rapids, Phyllis Kline of Marion, and John Lewis of Arkansas; a brother Claire, four sisters: Naomi Sell, Delores Truhlar, Lorraine Rudloff, Joyce Miller; fifteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend Velma Robinson of Stanwood. Preceding Hank in death were his parents; his wife Esther; brothers: Robert, Lawrence, Glenn, Clyde, Fay, and Ray; and a sister Maxine Kniffen. Hank was born, November 5, 1933 in rural Mechanicsville, the thirteenth child of Louis F. and Bertha L. Hudson Unruh. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany during the Korean War. Henry was a member of the Cyclops American Legion Post #109 of Lisbon. Hank married Patricia Cole. They were divorced. He married Esther Lewis, June 6, 1975 in Lisbon. He was a machinist for thirty-two years at Rockwell Collins, retiring in 1990. Hank was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #1362 of Cedar Rapids. Hank enjoyed bowling, softball, playing Euchre, and visiting with his many friends and family.
