Sharon K. Alger

Sharon K. Rollie Alger, 65 of Stanwood, formerly of Solon, died Monday, January 7, 2008 in the Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha from cancer. Celebration of life service will be 7:00 p.m., Friday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. The viewing will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday at the chapel. Burial 11:00 a.m., Saturday in Lisbon Cemetery. Surviving Sharon are her children, Steve of Riverside, Iowa, Sheila (Daniel) Walker, of Stone City, and Sandy Hanrahan of Clarence, thirteen grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Sharon is also survived by three brothers and two sisters. Preceding Sharon in death were her parents Walter and Irene Long Rollie, her husband Lester, and sister Phyllis Long. Sharon was born November 14, 1942 at Spring Valley, Minnesota. She married Lester Alger August 12, 1961 in Spring Valley, and they moved to Iowa in 1961. He died March 7, 1987. She enjoyed gambling at Tama.
