Vivian Elaine McConaughy Wolfe

ate line Mount Vernon Vivian Elaine McConaughy Wolfe, 75, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. A private family graveside service will be held Saturday. Surviving Vivian are her husband, Bob, of Mount Vernon; three sons: Jack (Connie) of Lisbon, Glenn (Kim) and Daniel (Patti); a brother, Glenn McConaughy, and a sister, Jane Kelso, (Dick Stoltz) all of Mount Vernon; and twelve grandchildren: Danielle, Zachary, Robert, Josh, Thomas, Danny, Hattie, Brandon, Amber, Nathan, Ben, and Jamie; six great grandchildren: Katie, Jake, Jessalyn, Kenny, Tristin, and Maya; and a special nephew, Nick (Sarah) Boots, and their children. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence "Jack" and Helen Stoneking McConaughy, a sister, Annette McConaughy Brokel, and a daughter, Kathy Wolfe Onstott. Vivian was born February 16, 1934, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1952. Vivian married Robert "Bob" Wolfe in the Little Brown Church in Nashua in 1953. She was a partner in Wolfe Sewing that included doing alterations with her mother, and she was a youth counselor at Maplewood Group Home in Cedar Rapids. Vivian loved the time she spent with Liz Kroul and Mary Smith, sisters-in-law. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and loved playing cards. Vivian was a loving wife, mother, proud grandmother, and great grandmother. A memorial fund in Vivian's honor has been established.
