Dianne, Carol and family, so sorry to hear of the death of your mother. I really enjoyed the emails I received from Mary Lou as we researched the Robinson clan. She and my grandmother, Margaret Mary Robinson, are now rejoicing in heaven. Becky T.
Missing you mom, At least now you are free to travel and attend any interesting classes and events anywhere you wish! Mary Lou used to always say that travel and education were two investments they could never repossess. Thanks to everyone who has been a friend and so supportive to mom over all these years while Carol and I were so far away from Iowa due to our work. Your friendships have always meant so much to her. With Love, Alex Dolezal (Dianne Alexandria Marie Dolezal)
Dianne, Carol, and family- We are very sorry that we can not attend today’s memorial for your mom. When we saw you back in October, Dianne, we didn’t know that we would have to be going out of town today. We’ll be thinking of you and holding you close in our hearts. We know how hard it is to lose a parent, no matter how old they are or what the circumstances.Your mom was “quite a gal” and will be missed! With deepest sympathy, Don and Judy Stine
Diane, Carol and Family, I’ll always remember how nice Mary Lou was to me at the Ely Legion Auxilary meetings and how all of our parents seemed to enjoy themselves so much just getting together at the Legion Hall. May they all rest in well deserved peace.
Dear Diane & Carol, Your mother and my mother were friends. I believe they met at St. Paul’s UMC in Cedar Rapids but am unsure. Because my mother didn’t drive, it was mostly by correspondence that they kept in touch. My mom passed on in 1991 and I got a lovely letter from Mary Louise. She often wrote about her kids. I hope that they can “pal” around now. My condolences..I still miss my mom.
To the family of “Mrs. Dolezal” – I was saddened to read of her passing. I was a student of Mrs. Dolezal’s at Sprngville High School in the early 70’s where I took typing, bookkeeping and business practice courses she taught. She was always such a kind and patient teacher – and I remember her good humor in putting up with practical jokes, and just general roudiness of students. I truly believe she was genuinely loved and respected by us all. Thanks to your Mom, I actually learned something of value to offer to prospective employers! More than what I learned in class from her… she was a good role model – something I really appreciated at that time in my life. I pray that in time the pain of your loss will fade to allow the joy and wonderful memories you must have to return. God bless you… and thank you for sharing your Mom with the rest of us! Sincerely, April Bible
Diane, Carol and family. Your Mom made many phone calls to my home while my mother, Iva Swindle, was living with me. They were great friends as well as cousins. I, too, enjoyed the calls after Mom’s death as Mary Lou shared lots of conversations–always interesting and stimulating. Although I never knew you well, Mom often talked about the two of you as your Mom kept her up-to-date on all of your activities. Janet Vauthrin
Dear Alex, Carol, Jeremy & Grace, I’ll always remember the good times Mary Lou and I had together since we first met at Stroke Club in 1983. The last few times I drove her, my old car no longer had heat and air conditioning. I finally got a different car and was determined to go and visit her before the winter weather — but I didn’t make it. What a fun gal and good friend she was. Eternal rest to you, Mary Lou!
