Joshua Wayne Gifford, 32, of Bernard (Leisure Lake), died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque from heart failure. The family will greet friends from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m., Wednesday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices Mount Vernon followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Surviving Josh are his wife Susan Dunkel and their children: Hunter and Destiny Gifford all of Bernard; his Mother Sandi Jongsma and brother Travis Jongsma both of Dubuque; two half-sisters: Alexa Henik of Lisbon and Sunset and five half-brothers: Timothy, Gator, Stoney, Prairie, Thunder Gifford all of Des Moines; paternal grandma Goldie (Bruce) Scott of Missouri; and maternal grandfather Kay Don (Carol) Krumroy of Mechanicsville. Preceding him in death were his father Timothy Gifford and grandmother Pauline (Eldon) Hansen. Joshua was born November 5, 1978 in Cedar Rapids. He was employed by C & C Fencing of Zwingle. I’m so sorry to hear about Josh. I will always remember the good times we had camping and fishing. I’ll never forget the crazy things we all did and the fun we had. He was a good friend and was always ready to help you. He will always be in my thoughts.
