One of God's special angels, Laurie Michelle "Sissy" Flockhart, 36 of Mount Vernon, died on Jesus' birthday, Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation Saturday, December 28, 2013, from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a private funeral service with family and close friends by Pastor Cecil Ballard at Grace Baptist Church, Marion. Burial Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Surviving Laurie are her parents Mike and Teresa Flockhart of Mount Vernon; two brothers: Sean of Marion and Tyler of Raleigh, North Carolina; Grandparents: Bob and Cora Collins of Mount Vernon and Keith and Jeri Flockhart of Stanwood; and loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding Laurie in death was her grandfather Roger Hines and a cousin Jennifer Flockhart. Laurie was loved by many and brought much joy into their lives. What a beautiful memorial service..the pastor was so right that we are the lucky ones to have this special angel in our lives. Laurie was blessed with a wonderful family and very cool cousins who talked to her and made her happy! Cora & Bob..you are wonderful..
