Wayne Eugene Youngblut

March 3, 1933 ~ January 11, 2015

Wayne E. Youngblut, 81 of rural Lisbon, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Mechanicsville Care and Rehabilitation Center. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 15, 2015 at Morgan Funeral Choices by the Rev. Kenneth Gibson of Woodstock, IL and Celebrant Mary Morgan. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the funeral home. A private family burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Surviving Wayne are: his wife of sixty-two years, Anna M. of Lisbon, 4-children: Rhonda (Dale) Bohrer of Toddville, Dennis (Shelle) of Mount Vernon, Linda (Steve) Gangloff of Syracuse, Indiana, David (Lisa) of Indianola; sister Anne (Ken) Lampe of Cedar Rapids, brother Francis of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren: Chris, Eric, Todd, Brandi, Jared, Brittany, Lindsay, Heather, Tyler, and Haley; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Wayne in death are his parents, Leo Brownie and Lucile; an infant daughter Florence, 2-infant grandsons Mark and Derek. Wayne was born March 3, 1933 in Sioux City. He graduated from Martelle High School. Wayne married Anna Nelson on May 30, 1952 at Lisbon. He was inducted into the U.S. Army and served as an instructor at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri during the Korean Conflict. He farmed all his life in this area. Wayne served on the Board of Directors of the Martelle Coop for many years. Wayne was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Wayne was an outdoorsman, traveling with family and friends 43 years to Gull Rock Lake in Ontario, Canada. He enjoyed hunting and fishing locally. Wayne loved sports, especially following his children and grandchildren in their sporting events. He worked the chain at Lisbon Football games for many years. Wayne possessed a gentle strength, which was much respected by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Waynes honor was established. The family would like to thank the staff of the Mechanicsville Care and Rehabilitation Center and Care Initiative Hospice for the wonderful compassionate care they provided Wayne and family.   10. Dear Anna and Family. We fully enjoyed the friendship of you family over many, many years. Wayne, Johnnie Krob, John Pospichil, John Mallie and myself had to have been the best bowling team that St. John’s ever had (at least the most fun). We also had many other fun times.
