Earl Heeren, 92, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, January 19, 2015, at Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon. Funeral Services: 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Morgan Funeral & Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon, by Pastor Stephanie Wherry. Visitation will be one hour prior the service at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Surviving Earl are his children; Harold of Poy Sippi, Wisconsin, Karen (Greg) Pepin of Rochester, Minnesota, Connie Heeren-Collins of Lisbon, Ronnie (Candy) Heeren of Mount Vernon, and Robert (Jan) of Fairfax; 10 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Preceding Earl in death was his wife, who died September 13, 2014. Earl was born June 29, 1922 in Fayette, Iowa, the son of Emil and Gesina (Tjaden) Heeren. He served in the US Army National Guard. On November 27, 1942, he married Dorothy Voelker. He retired after 32 years from Quaker Oats as a pipe fitter. Earl was a charter member of Anamosa Bow Hunters.   2. sorry that you lost your dad. he was the one that taught me how to shoot a bow. also he tried to teach me how to catch mudcat down on the cedar,ronnie and bob might remember, but he wasnt to successful. lots of other things i remember. he was a good friend to me.dee and i are in kuwait visiting our daughter and wont be able to be at the service but we will be remembering you. larry and dee hermanstorfer
