We remember the rides to Moline Auction to pick up cars with him and his employees, the several breakfast we had with him. also many visits to our car lot and then to his. He made us laugh and loved the stories, he was with us during our hardship and held our hands and hugged us. He will always be remembered with love and deep admiration. Our deepest sympathy.

  7. Im sorry to hear of Harolds passing. My father was also in the car business and he and Harold were good friends,Dick Clark from Glens auto mart,I got to know Harold in my early teens,I saw a 56 chevy in the back of his lot and stopped to ask the price on it for some parts for my 55 chevy and Harold told me 100.00 dollars.Later at Dads lot I asked him to call Harold and ask him if that price was firm?Dad came out to shop later and asked if id give 50.00 for car,I said sure,he said go get your car then.I went to H+H and Harold said your Dicks son?I said yes sir,and Harold asked if we were running it through the dealership and if I had a dollar?Being a green kid I was wondering what this dollar was about but got one out and give it to him.Harold told me ive known your Dad for years and he sends a lot of people over with old cars to sell,Harold scribbled up an order form for a 1.00 tossed me the keys and then picked up the dollar looked at it then gave it back to me and said you need this worse than I do.I never have forgot that and brought it up to Harold at times through the years that he was the only one that ever gave me a car!!He was a great guy!! Steve Clark

  8. Thank you for all the wonderful talks and laughs through the years. So many visits when I was working at the gift shop next to the car lot. And I still laugh at the trolling motor we got one year for Christmas. You were truly one of a kind. Thank you , your wisdom was truly great. RIP, Love always, Joen

  9. A wonderful Man who would often come visit his sister my mother, when coming this way to the auction the memories of just sitting with them listening to them all talk about the days when they were young has filled my head with many memories and my heart with joy in knowing they were a loving and caring family. They will be sorely missed but the memories they gave will last on and continue to bring both tears of joy of their lives and sadness of their passing. We Love you Uncle Harold
