Mark S. Callanan

Mark S. Callanan, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Burial at a later date. Survivors include his father, David Callanan of Marion; three children, Amber (Erwan) Simon of Quimper, France, Thomas Callanan and Matthew Callanan, both of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Owen and Loeva; seven siblings, Michael (Kim) Callanan of Cedar Rapids, Stephen (Lynne) Callanan of Shellsburg, Catherine (Terry) Sindelar, Gregory (Theresa) Callanan, Susan Callanan, Brian Callanan, and Patrick (Kara) Callanan, all of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. Mark was born September 27, 1958, the son of David and Dorothy (Scholl) Callanan. He attended Regis High School and worked many years at Timberline Manufacturing in Marion. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, and his grandparents. Memorials may be directed to Mark's family.
