Christopher L. Tilley

Christopher L. Tilley, 35, of Ely, died Thursday, February 5, 2009, at home, following a long illness. Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Chris leaves behind his wife, Tina; his children, Brandon and Morgan; his brother, Cory (Amber) Tilley; his 'special' mother and father-in-law, LaDona and Hal Smith; his grandfather, Loye Tilley; his father, Larry Tilley; and many other family and friends. Chris was born December 5, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Larry and Sally (Price) Tilley. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, fishing, snowmobiling, and working on cars with his brother-in-law, Scott. Chris will be remembered for his jokes and humor and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mom, Sally and grandmother, Eleanor Tilley, who he greatly respected and cherished. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Ely City Hall In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for his children.

  5. I knew Chris and his family.Well it is very unfortunate that he died.I know that he will always be in our hearts though.

  6. Chris was a HUGHE part of Dave’s life!! He has stated more than once that Chris’ heart is bigger than he is. I know that Chris is looking down on Dave(& Dave’s family) & everyone else that he loves. He will be missed

  8. Chris had a HUGE heart and an even bigger humourous personality. We’ll all miss him coming into the store many times a night even if it was just to pass the time, or make a joke or two.

  10. I am very sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. My father was Don Schmidt and my sister Dina and I grew up with Chris and Cory. I have many memories of both Chris And Cory and Larry. My sister passed away in 2007 and I know how painful your loss is. I am very sorry. Please accept my condolences. He was so very young.
