Cedar Rapids'Michael Breck Tiernan, age 59, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital. Michael was born June 9, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, the son of James and Elizabeth Broeckert Tiernan. Mike attended school in Cedar Rapids. He was a printer by trade, working for Fisher Printer and others. In 1971 he married Bonnie Snitker and they divorced in 1992. He is survived by his sons, Samuel Tiernan, Cedar Rapids, Broeckert (Karin) Tiernan, Joliet, IL, and Beau (Jessica) Tiernan, Marion; sisters, Janie Macklin, FL, Susie Van Auken, Cedar Rapids, Julie Keen, Omaha, NE, and Lori Fiebelkorn, Sherrill, IA; three grandchildren and special friend, Wayne Breeden. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James III; and sister, Patty McCalley. His wonderful disposition and sunny attitude, especially during the last few years when he was ill, endeared him to many people. A private committal service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to his family, c/o Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services
