  8. WE KNEW DAVE AND IT IS SO SAD THAT HE DIED THE WAY HE DID AND AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE.
GOOD BYE DAVE AND MAY YOU REST IN PEACE.

  9. Sue and I have known Dave (for over 20years)since our days at Hardwick Apartments. I remembered when Dave knocked on our door to apply for an apartment and we realized we were related. When your father Parnell knocked on the door to find out how we were related and when you both verified it with the family genealogy. I remember having lunch with Parnell and you at Wendys after his stroke before he had to go to the home, our catching up on the week fridays before the flood, your calls and helping me work on my flood house after the flood. Finally stopping at my father in laws wake just 20 days before your death, and saying I was always there for you when really we were there for each other. We were more like long lost brothers then cousins.
Your generosity and good nature are another Cedar Rapids legend now laid to rest. Rest In The Peace of Our Heavenly Father and be assured I am there for yours now & the future as we were for each other in the past. Only God,The Angels, Heaven and Family are forever May you live on forever with God and the Angels in Heaven and in the loving memories of your friends and family

and always had a freindly smile on his face.May he rest in peace in Gods Kingdom Forever.

  11. We were shocked to read about Dave. Shawn and I had both run into Dave recently and I can’t believe he is gone. Dave and I had some good talks after his father died. I am sad that he was taken from us at such a young age. May God keep him in his arms till we all see him again someday. Kathleen and Shawn

  12. I first met Dave about 10 years ago at Papa Juan’s. He and his aunt, Joann would have lunch there once a week. Dave always greeted me with kind words, a smile, and a hug. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

  13. How shocked I was to learn of the tragedy that came so sudden to Dave as I had just spoken with him on Sunday. I Grew up with Dave on the NE side of town. He leaves many memories that are dear to my heart. I know how deeply he will be missed by myself as well as others. Dave’s concern for others were most important to him. He is in God’s safe hands now and I will miss him.

  15. Dave was a great person. I knew Dave through JH & HS. In the years out of school he always went out of his way to stop and talk. I’m sure he will be remembered by many people.

  16. Ali and I have known Dave for only a few months. We moved into the apartment above his in June 2008. Dave was the first person we met at the apartment complex and was extremely willing to help if we ever needed anything-whether it be help moving in, needing a ride, or to borrow his step stool that he offered to us on more than one occasion. We were shocked to hear of his passing. Dave came up and visited with us regularly, and we always saw him outisde when we both were letting our dogs out. He was a helpful, kind, talkative guy, and we will miss him greatly. May you now rest in peace Dave.

  17. I had not seen Dave for over 30 years, but he came to my father’s funeral when he passed away late last year. Though I had not seen him in a long time, he saw my dad’s notice and made a point of coming by to say hello after all these years and express his condolences. I remember thinking how most people wold not take the time to do that, but I guess that was Dave, always thinking of others. I am saddened to hear that he passed away. Cory Soukup

  18. David and I graduated from Washington High School in 1977. We participated in baseball and other sports from 7th grade forward. I remember he worked extremely hard to improve his game and did not quit! I noticed his improvement most once when I was throwing batting practice in high school. He started hitting everything I threw, so I through harder and harder he kept hitting it. I always was glad he did not play for the other team. I really respected the fact that David did not give up and worked so hard.

I also remember David was very social in high school. Very seldom did I attend a party that he was not in attendance. He was always a very likeable person that never had anything bad to say about anyone. I will certainly miss him at the upcoming reunions as it was always good to talk to him and catch up.

I will pray for him and enjoy each day to the fullest; I know David would do the same for me.

  19. We were so sorry we have lost our friend and former Wash classmate. He always was smiling! He always would take the time to talk to us whenever we saw him. He will be missed. God bless and keep you Dave.
