Hattie T. Neff

Hedivka "Hattie" Theresa Neff, 96, a resident of Mercy Hallmar, was received into the open arms of her Lord on Monday, November 17, 2008, following a two year illness. She had family by her side when she was called home. Survivors include a daughter, Linda M. Neff of Mesa, Arizona; and her two sons, Ronald W. Neff of Detroit, Michigan and Robert C. Neff of Vinton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and more recently her husband. Hattie was born October 16, 1912, the daughter of Joseph Skala and Marcella Soukal-Skala. In 1937, she married William G. Neff in Cedar Rapids. He died August 25, 2006. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008, with a vigil service at 5 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2008, at St. Matthew Catholic Church by Rev. Mark Osterhaus. Burial: St. John Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
