Alfreda E. McBride Holliday, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral: 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Minister Stephanie Brooks. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon McBride of Chicago, Illinois, LaVerne McBride of Cedar Rapids, and Janice Whiteside of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Gilbert Warren of Arizona, George Warren of Cedar Rapids, Atlee Warren, Kenneth Warren; sisters, Sandra Allison, Linda Petty, all of Chicago; Helen Fisher of Cedar Rapids, Edna Honour of California, and 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Alfreda was born January 16, 1944, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles Brooken and Ethel Matthews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; daughter, Joann McBride; two sisters, Florida Watson, Debra Smith and Regina Beauchamp Warren; and an infant sister, Julia Mae. My condolences. Alfreda was my sister-in-law long ago. I was always very fond of her, she was truly a very nice person; always smiling. I know that she will truly be missed as well as her beautiful smile. Rest on Alfreda.
