Dorothy B. Klein, 93, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab, died there Friday, November 28, 2008. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. David O'Connor. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Stewart Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte (David) Mason, of Coggon, Iowa; two sons, George Klein of Huntsville, Alabama and Dennis (Janet) Klein of Foley, Alabama; a brother, Bob Bartlett of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Margaret Kieffaber of Seattle, Washington; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born April 30, 1915, in Marshall, Missouri, the daughter of James and Sally (King) Bartlett. She was married to George Klein for 45 years before his passing in 1978. A wonderful homemaker to her husband and children, she enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting and taking care of her beautiful roses. Dorothy was a very active member of All Saints Catholic Church since 1955, including the St. Cecilia's Circle and Martha's of All Saints. Dorothy was a 40 year volunteer with the Mercy Auxiliary and enjoyed playing in various bridge clubs. She dearly loved her family and All Saints parish, as well as traveling and spending time with her good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; two sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Klein. Memorials may be directed to All Saints Catholic Church.







Dear Charlotte & family: I read the gazette-on-line this AM and saw the pic of Dorothy. She always brought a smile to my face – what a beautiful lady. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that we are thinking about all of you and are so thankful that she touched our lives. May she rest in peace. We are with you in spirit.
