Elmira Faye Hawkins, 91, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Memorial Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor JR Henderson. Visitation: noon to service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Wesley Chapel Cemetery, rural Bloomfield, Iowa, at a later date. She is survived by three sons, Richard of Hiawatha, Jerry of Bloomfield, and Gordon of Leeds, North Dakota; ten grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and two brothers, Leo Long of Burlington and Robert Long of Ankeny. Elmira was born February 9, 1922, in Davis County, the daughter of George and Elsie (Shepherd) Long. She married Max Hawkins on January 27, 1939. They later divorced. He died in 1982. She owned LaVogue Beaute Salon in Davenport. Elmira was an electrologist and enjoyed making hats and doing craft projects. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; an infant daughter; brother, Don Long; and a sister, Maxine Roberts.
