Mary Lois Gardner, 86, of Marion, died at Northbrook Manor on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids by Chaplain Jeremy Hudson. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Hazelton, Iowa. Survivors include her daughters, Joan (George) Moger, Brenda (Arlon) Parish, and Margaret Hardman; sons Jerry (Gloria) Gardner and Roger (Judy) Gardner; sisters, Eleanor Sortore and Beverly Aichele; brother, James Copp; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mary was born August 23, 1927, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Johnson) Copp. Mary was a homemaker and valued time spent with her family. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed canning vegetables and homemade jams. Mary also liked to listen to blue grass music. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wade; brothers, Alvin Copp and Franklin Copp; and granddaughter, Jennifer Hardman.
