Norman L. Feddern, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died at home on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Funeral Services: 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Visitation: 11 a.m. ' 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his sons, Daniel Feddern and Scott Feddern; daughter, Debra Springman; grandchildren, Travis (Jolene) Springman, Amanda (Zach) Gorman, Nicole Feddern, and Courtney Feddern; great grandchildren, Zander and Zadien Gorman, and Reid and Ryken Springman; brothers, Ed Feddern, Gary Feddern, and Dick Feddern; and sister, Peggy Bacher. Norman was born March 23, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Edward and Neva (Oliphant) Feddern. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1953. On July 26, 1958, he married Sandra Cerney in Cedar Rapids. Norman worked at Rockwell Collins for 37 years. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others. Norman was a diehard Hawkeye fan who enjoyed gardening, reading, playing Nintendo, and loved to attend his grandkids' school and sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra; brothers, Donald; and sisters, Norma, Pat, and Jane. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Mercy. The family extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Nabi and her nurse, Molly; Dr. Alberts, Dr. Lee, and their nurses and staff, and Hospice of Mercy for the compassionate care given to Norman during his illness.
