Evelyn M. Cory, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. She was born March 30, 1935, and lived her entire life in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area. Evelyn was an avid sports fan and dog lover. She enjoyed watching the Cubs, Bears, and Hawkeyes and loved fishing and classic country music. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Norman W. Cory Survivors include her four children, Robert (Rita) Core, Sherry (Gene) Lewis, Kenny Core and Mike (Sherry) Core; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren, all who brought her great joy. A memorial fund has been established; contributions are welcome and should be mailed to Sherry Core, 534 Zelda Dr NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52405.

Robert,Mike,Kenny and Sherry,I am sorry for your loss and you have my deepest sympathy.
I just want the family to know the last few weeks of taking care of your mom and your grandmother were amazing moments in my life. Hearing the stories she told over and over, There is no better feeling knowing that you were there when your parents needed you. Through good times and bad I know she felt loved being with us. I know she was and is very proud of all of her kids.
