Willie Benest, 44, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, August 14, 2010. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation from noon to service time. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. He is survived by his father, Mark (Marlene) Benest of Cedar Rapids; numerous brothers and sisters; and extended family and friends. Willie was born July 18, 1966, in Cedar Rapids. He worked as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing, racing, and playing pool. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys. A memorial fund has been established.

  1. uncle willie was the happiest person there was i remember when we use to go fishin it was to much fun im going to really miss him he was family to me and i love him with all my heart rest in peace uncle hurricane you will be greatly missed

  8. I am so sorry for your loss. I have not seen Willie in a quite a while. His fun nature and kind words will be greatly missed by many. There are lives that he touched that he probably didn’t even know. God Bless.

  9. Willie was such a truly good person. He never judged anyone and always had a smile on his face and a laugh for everyone he was around. He loved watching his friends race. Rockford will never be the same again! I will miss you Willie! Godspeed buddy…
