Delmar 'Butch' L. Bear Jr., 51, of Fairfax, died on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. C.W. Slaton. Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Teresa; son, Randy (Abbie Ward) Bear; father, Del Bear Sr.; sister, Karen (Kevin) Hauskins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Phil and Jan Olivier; and numerous nieces and nephews. Butch was born February 21, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Delmar and Shirley (Hughes) Bear. On April 20, 1985, he married Teresa Olivier in Cedar Rapids. Butch was a longtime Minnesota Vikings fan and loved to hunt, fish, and go bowling. He also enjoyed his dog, Aimee and watching Nascar and Star Trek. He was preceded in death by his mother; and grandparents.

When I remember my childhood I remember Butch, he was such a big part of my life. A great friend who tought me how to pray at such a young age. I have not seen him in years but I feel the lose.

I enjoyed the short time I got to visit with Butch. I’m saddened to hear of his passing, but at least he is not in pain any longer. If I had known, I would have attended his funeral to pay my respects. Sending big hugs to Teresa, Aimee, and family.
