Virginia “Gina” Odasco Swyter, 75, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gina was born on December 17, 1950, in the Philippines, the daughter of Tomas and Maria Raagas.
Gina was a hard worker, famous for her eggrolls, and Filipino dishes. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and her “scratchies”. Gina loved spending time and being with her family. To know her was to never forget her.
Gina is survived by her children, Grace (DeShaun)Williams, Maria (Eli) Raue, and Elizabeth (Justin) Bascom; grandchildren, Akia, Maurisha, Jensen (Alex), Seth, Julian, and Jayda; great-grandchildren, Jamari, Judah, Imani, Yara, Jareem, A’lasia, and Davion; sister, Gardiopatra Radaza; and chosen sister, Delia Harry.
Gina was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff of U.S. Renal, Winslow House and Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, for the extraordinary care Gina received.
