Lillian Anna Hudachek Krummel, 95, of Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, due to complications of pneumonia. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon by the Reverend Rod Allers. Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. The Rosary and the Wake service at 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the chapel. Burial: St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Lisbon, following the funeral mass. Lillian is survived by her children: three daughters; Arlene Jilovec, Lisbon, Janet (Bernard) Himmelsbach, Amana, Joanne (David) Nemec, Fairfax, and son Merle (Judy) Krummel, Iowa City, twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Lillian in death were husband Ralph, a grandson Gary Nemec, her parents Edward and Anna Vislisel Hudachek, 6-brothers; William, Lewis, Daniel, Lafe, Paul, and Edward, three sisters; Elsie Walshire, Helen Theurauf, and Christine Krummel. Lillian was born May 26, 1913 on the Hudachek family farm. She attended Valley Chapel Country School and graduated from Lisbon High School, class of 1932. Lillian married Ralph Krummel, July 30, 1935 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lisbon. He died January 19, 1996. Lillian enjoyed working alongside her husband on the family farms and their large garden. Throughout their married years, they enjoyed traveling. She was a life-long resident of Lisbon-Mount Vernon area. Lillian was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. Lillian enjoyed and loved her children, grand children, great-grandchildren, and her great great-grand daughter. She gave us her love and we will miss her dearly. The family would like to thank the staff at Hallmark Care Center, Mercy Medical Center, Mercy Hospice, and all those who cared for her. A memorial fund in Lillian's honor has been established.
