Grace Ann Hines, 85, formerly of Stanwood, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Graveside Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, with burial to follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, by Pastor Randy Kruse. Visitation: 7:00 ' 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.Grace Ann was born on December 19, 1937, in What Cheer Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Eva Marie Danner Reed. She married Paul Hines on January 6, 1956. They raised three daughters, Jean (Larry) Worby of New Kent, Virginia, Diane Hines of Clarence, and Carol Hines of Stanwood.Grace worked as a housewife and mother. She raised her family in Stanwood. Grace was a member of the Stanwood Legion Auxiliary. Earlier in life, Grace worked at Wilson Foods in Cedar Rapids, and U.S. Name Plate in Mount Vernon. Grace cleaned homes in and around Stanwood, for many years. She also cleaned the Stanwood Library, Post Office, Stanwood City Hall, and the Stanwood Union Church. Grace lived in Rockford, Illinois, before coming back to Iowa, where she lived in Clarence, and then at Prairie Hills, in Tipton.Grace is survived by a sister, Wanda (Donnie) Weber of Mechanicsville; sister-in-law, Carol Reed of Bakersfield, California; daughters, Jean, Diane, Carol; seven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.Grace is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul, on December 30, 1994; brothers, Kenneth, Charles, Norman; sister, Rhodora Irene Whitson; and best friend, Kenny Klotz on December 16, 2019.Sympathy cards may be addressed to Grace's family at: Jean Worby, 7799 Robert Dinwiddie Terrace, New Kent, Virginia 23124.

Grace Hines, 94, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018, at Winslow House Nursing Home, Marion. Private Family Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Abbott and Pat (Steve) Freeman; grandchildren, Jeff Abbott, and Jennifer McBurney and Joshua Freeman; and six great-grandchildren.
Grace Pearl Roberts was born April 24, 1924, to Clarence and Caroline Roberts in New York. She married Harvey Hines on August 17, 1940, in Oelwein, Iowa. They went camping on weekends for many years, and took their daughters on annual vacations, visiting all the states west of the Mississippi River. Grace's favorite hobby was to crochet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and granddaughter, Angela Marti.
