Dona M. Busch Conley, 85, of Mount Vernon died Friday, November 05, 2010, at the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. Services, 11:00 a.m., Monday, (November 8) at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon, by Paster Slaton. Dona's family will greet friends, 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday (November 7) in the funeral home. Private graveside services, Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Dona is survived by her husband Melvin, two sons: Dean (Tamara Dirks) and Loren (Roxanna), and a daughter Linda (Daniel) Gaines, and a special friend Rambo, all of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Melissa Beachel, Marion, Mike Conley and Kurt Gaines, both of Mount Vernon. Dona is also survived by two brothers, Carl Busch, Blairstown and Arthur Busch, Omaha, and special friends, Claire and Sadie Stabenow, Mechanicsville. Preceding Dona in death were her parents, and two nephews, Dennis and Charles Busch. Dona was born May 17, 1925 in Cedar County, the daughter of Charles and Zilla Gunn Busch. She graduated from Martelle High School, where she excelled in sports. Dona's favorite hobbies were bowling , the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Cubs. She was very willing to help anybody, and was a friend to all. Dona will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Dona's honor has been established. So sorry to hear about Donna’s passing, she was such a blessing to everyone that knew her. I enjoyed having her come to visit and visiting with her, she will be greatly missed.
